ProfileDocker (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our web application and related services.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

  • Name, email address, and profile photo (from social login providers or manual entry)
  • Authentication credentials managed by Firebase Authentication

Profile & Resume Data

  • Professional summary, work experience, education, skills, certifications, and portfolio items you provide
  • Uploaded resume files (PDF/DOCX) processed for AI-assisted parsing
  • Resume versions and AI-enhanced content

Usage Data

  • Profile view counts and timestamps
  • Download counts and export activity
  • Feature usage analytics (via Mixpanel) — disabled on localhost
  • Performance metrics (via Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights)

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account and profile
  • To provide AI-powered resume enhancement and ATS scoring
  • To generate public profile pages accessible via your custom URL
  • To display analytics about your profile views and downloads
  • To enable messaging between users and recruiters
  • To improve our services through aggregated, anonymized usage analytics

4. AI Processing

When you use AI features (summary generation, content enhancement, ATS checking), your resume content is sent to OpenAI's API for processing. We send only the minimum data required. OpenAI's data usage policies apply to this processing. We do not use your data to train AI models.

5. Data Storage & Security

  • Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore) with security rules restricting access to authenticated users
  • Authentication is handled by Firebase Auth with industry-standard encryption
  • All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
  • We do not store your passwords — authentication is managed by Firebase and social OAuth providers

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in these cases:
  • Public profiles: Information you choose to make public via your profile URL is accessible to anyone with the link
  • Service providers: Firebase (hosting/database), OpenAI (AI processing), Vercel (hosting/analytics), Mixpanel (product analytics)
  • Legal requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights

7. Your Rights

  • Access: View all data stored in your profile from the Profile page
  • Edit: Update or correct your information at any time
  • Delete: Request account deletion by contacting support@profiledocker.com
  • Export: Download your resume data in PDF, JSON, Markdown, or plain text formats

8. Cookies & Tracking

We use essential cookies for authentication session management. Mixpanel and Vercel Analytics may set cookies for product analytics. Analytics tracking is automatically disabled in local development environments.

9. Children's Privacy

ProfileDocker is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
